4. A job I've had for 15 years. Worst single year of my work life.

Am looking for a lesser job within the university. There does not seem to be a good decision anywhere. I'm currently in deep shit for allegedly ignoring a directive to NOT extend health care insurance for an employee with malignant melanoma (he died last week). The VP of HR says I was expressly forbidden to do so by one of her staff, a lie at worst, misrepresentation at best. I simply said to her today, "tell me what you want. DO you want me to pay the premiums back? If so I will." She kept hemming and hawing, would never get to the point. My boss is telling me not to worry, but I've just about had it. After 30 years, 25 of which in increasing levels of management and administrative responsibility, I'm tired of being the boss. I just want to go to work, and go home.
