8. my sil was 43 when she had her son and my mil thought she was going through
menopause when she got pregnant at 48.

That's fantastic.

My sis works in a neonatal ICU... so she's got me thinking pregnancy past 35 = not worth the risk.

16. My bil turned 66 today and so did my Dad and his brother is the same age as my husband.
it's kind of weird.

17. it's seems much more common now - people have em well into their 40s
but then I had mine at 38. I sometimes think the geneticists tend to want to scare us all a bit too much. Of course, I have also seen kids with incredible developmental problems whose moms were in their 20s. Women in their early 20s can have a certain amount of risk, as well, from what I have read.

11. I've had at least 3 friends have babies after 40 with zero problems.

15. One is a doctor who said it's not a big deal anymore
to have a baby at around 40 years old anymore, if the mother doesn't have any existing health problems at the time.
