Anything good at McDonalds? |
|
The only two items I think are worth eating a McDonalds are:
smooth vanilla ice cream cone
hotcakes and sausage.
Otherwise the rest of their food is nasty!

Tastes good: - Fries - Apple pie - Egg McMuffin - Southern chicken sandwich
Good for you: - Salad

Unfortunately, they don't sell them without over salting them to hell. I used to work at a Mcdonalds in the 80's and the employees ate the food there. Now I wonder if the employees eat there at all because how can they NOT notice how terrible it is?

like spritzed on real lightly, that I like. Some colleagues insist on going there for lunch once in a while, and I first thought I wouldn't find anything to eat--hadn't been there in a while--but I always get this salad, and I like it.

but I can eat a QP (with cheese!) and not feel too sick after (unlike burger king). I can eat a big Mac or a double cheeseburger too. (heck I wish they had their regualr cheeseburgers for 50 cents - I would eat those instead of the double)
Their fries used to be a LOT better when they used lard. Everybody's fries used to be better before the ENTIRE FREAKING UNIVERSE started putting whatever that weird coating is on their fries. WHY? Real crispy is good, strange coatings to give the illusion of crispy is scary. I would rather have a nice greasy soggy fry than a weird coated one.

I am in total agreement with you on the mystery shellack on french fries. Burger King started this nonsense about ten years ago when they started spraying that weird sugar glaze, and sadly, McD's followed suit.
Bring back the lard!

I love how they have to promise you that their burgers are "100% beef" on the wrappers. Not 100% LEAN beef, or 100% Angus, or whatever... just 100% beef. What a ringing endorsement!

except the regular coffee, which is pretty poor -- haven't tried their espresso or whatever 'gourmet' kind they have. But the burgers, cheeseburgers, quarterpounders, double cheeseburgers, big macs, fries, fillet 'o fish, egg mcmuffins, sausage mcmuffins, mcgrills, sundaes, slurries, shakes -- all that stuff I'd be happy to eat on a regular basis. Of course I don't because of the high caloric content and less than satisfactory nutrition, but I still like the taste.

They do offer low-fat or fat-free (can't remember which), and the best way to eat any salad dressing is to get it on the side and just dip your fork in it before each bite. I do this at McD's.
If you eat cheeseburgers everyday, you will get sick. I never understood the point in making a whole movie to prove that.

I can't remember the exact name, but it's something like the Deluxe Crispy Chicken sandwich. I rarely go there, though; I went there too much as a kid, anyway, and there are several fast food places I prefer if I'm getting fast food.
ON EDIT: That last sentence I wrote is a little repetitive, but I think I'll just leave it that way. haha Also, wanted to add that I like the Cajun McChicken (plus, it's only 99-cents- woohoo!) and I've also never gotten tired of the fries.
