Any other college students start back this week?
Edited on Wed Sep-05-07 05:07 PM by bicentennial_baby
If so, how's it going? :hi:

So far, I've had all of my classes. Not too bad, a few kinda icky ones, but I'll live. If I want to graduate in June, I have to stick with what I have...stupid requirements. One of my Econ profs is a but Nazi-esque in her policies, but whatever.

:)

1. I had my first two classes yesterday
a PE and a drawing class. Tomorrow I have PE and a design class. So far so good and I'm pleased that I am not the oldest person in my classes.

:)

5. Yes
My youngest is starting all day Kindergarten on Friday, so now I'm finally going to get a degree. I have 22 credits transferred from 13-18 years ago. I'm going for a AS in Fine Arts partime for now.

6. Biology w/ emphasis in Aquatic Biology
So far it is very cool in the fact that the classes involve field work. Like for the Aquatic Biology class we go to the river and wade chest deep with nets capturing lots of bugs and various other stuff. Then we go to the lab and look at them under the microscope and classify them.

Ichthyology is kind of the same thing except with fish.

I guess I like the hands-on classes. They are fun. Memorizing stuff gets boring real quick for me anyways.

What is your major?

11. I started back last week.
So far, so good. All of my classes are really interesting, but it's definitely going to be a tough semester - tons and tons of reading, presentations, research, etc. I'm hoping it will be worth it, though!

13. Anthropology.
I'm taking almost all anthro classes this semester, and since it's my senior year, they're all pretty high-level seminars and such. :hi:

I'm taking 2 classes for my Major (Econ), high-level, and 2 req's that I haven't finished up yet, an Art (Printmaking) and a Humanities (Philosophy). And I'm TA-ing a History class. It's gonna be a looong semester.

Good luck! :)

16. I have a lot of respect for Econ majors.
:hi: I took micro and macro as a sophomore when I thought I was going to major in International Relations, and even that was pretty rough for me, lol. Sounds like we're both going to have a pretty challenging semester! Best of luck to you, too. :hi:

We don't get a lot of respect on DU... :P

Once you get past the core classes, Micro and Macro 101, 102, 201, and 202, it's really not that bad! Although, 201 and 202 almost killed me... :P

17. Never went to college, in fact. (Unless you count going to colleges to
chase women, that is.) So I'm afraid I have nothing to contribute to this thread, not that it stopped me from posting here.

22. Well, I work on a college campus...if that counts
And it is now swarming with students. I like it, though, I like working on a college campus. It makes September so revitalizing...

But, it's been over 20 years since I've gone back to class myself.

23. I started last Monday.
So far, so good...except for a horribly-written reading assignment on medieval political theory. I'm kind of uneasy about my Fiction 1 class, though...the guy's having us imitate other writers' styles, and I don't like that one bit.

It's an acting class. I haven't taken one since high school so I'm kinda nervous.

Tomorrow is my first day of Child Development.

but first I need a new job. Can't schedule classes before I know what my hours will be. So I won't be able to get back until at least next semester.

33. After
20+ years of being out of classrooms (not counting being on the teaching end of one) I went back to school a couple of weeks ago and am taking a multi-media arts class. I'm enjoying it and am happy to see many other middle-aged people in the class.

I have pretty much completed my first project which isn't due unti 10/11. I'm not taking the class for a grade since I already have a couple of college degrees. This is just for fun.
