How many here have white coat syndrome?
Edited on Thu Sep-06-07 01:27 AM by mvd
I do. My blood pressure at home is around 115/78, but at the doctor's office, it can be 150/94. Today was an exception. My reading was 118/68! I might have found out how to relax enough to break the white coat syndrome.

Good night, all. :hi:

1. Good night, my dear mvd...
Sweetest of dreams!

I sometimes have it, and sometimes not...

I think I'm getting a handle on it...

Last week at the Red Cross, my blood pressure was 120/70, which is really good in that setting for me!

2. I know people who are the opposite
My mom's blood pressure is LOWER at the office. I had a physical today, and everything was good. Just need to get the blood tests next.

3. My blood pressure has consistently been around 114/70
every time I've had it measured in the past 20 years. When I'm in for a checkup and the BP cuff comes out, I always tell the nurse, "It's probably about 114/70," and it always is. I dunno if that's weird, but one doctor (a friend) quipped, "We really should check your blood pressure when you haven't smoked 10 cigarettes during the drive over here in nervous anticipation of your annual checkup."
