Good news!

OK, as some of you may be aware, my mom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer earlier this year, and she had surgery to remove the thyroid in April. The surgery was a success, but they wanted to do a radioactive iodine treatment as well to get any remaining thyroid tissue. Well, she went for the preliminary scan yesterday and got the treatment today, and although she can't be around anybody for the next three days or so, I got to talk to her on the phone afterwards and she had some amazing news. :) Apparently, all the remaining thyroid tissue is located in the same spot, the cancer hasn't spread, and they think this radioactive iodine treatment should take care of it all. :D I am so happy right now I'm having trouble stringing words together - the doctors thought that she would be fine, but it's still been kind of a nerve-wracking process and I was really worried about her. It looks like she's going to be OK, though, and I am SO glad! :hug: I just wanted to thank all of you for being so supportive and encouraging - you guys are great. :loveya:
