My sister was scheduled for surgery on her elbow at 1pm. |
|
It's now 8pm and I haven't heard from the hospital yet.
I did hear from a girlfriend of hers- she stopped at the hospital at 6 to be told she was still in surgery.
I'm worried.

My mother was scheduled for cancer surgery a few years ago and they ended up starting 5 hours late. I hope that's what's going on for your sister.

4. She fell and shattered her elbow |
|
Several bone fragments have migrated. There's a lot to be done.
She cracked some ribs as well- don't know if they'll address that or not.

It could be many things. Once, my sister took a long time to come out of the anesthesia, after surgery. I swear, by the time I went through what I thought might have happened to her, it took years off my life.
Hope you get good news soon.

7. UPDATE: At ten p.m. she's home and wide awake. |
|
They didn't even keep her over night. Not sure I like that too much.
Anyhoo, she seems to be fine.

9. Seriously, she is better off at home |
|
Hospitals are petri dishes for resistant microbes.
I am glad to hear she is out of surgery and appears to be resting fine.

10. Thanks for the update! |

She's better of not being in the hospital... less chance of infection.

11. As long as they gave her good pain meds |
|
and she and her partner are watching closely for anything that's not right, she'll be fine.
