1. I met a single waitress who wore one.
She said it really reduced the number of guys asking her out.

2. I wore a ring on my "wedding ring finger" when I was single
Saved me from a lot of hassle from my male clients.

I just did a search and found the pic on a site with a bunch of claddagh rings. Didn't think I'd find the exact ring, but that's it.

On edit: Here's the site:

5. I have an aunt who always did
She was terrified of men but she was the biggest bitch you've ever come across. Horrible woman.

6. Once I was in love and wore a ring, just pretending. I was 23.
Shortly after my marriage (to another man) I remember clearly getting on the bus to go to work, looking down at my left hand and thinking, "This accursed fucking thing." The marriage was bad. I'm in love again and would wear a ring (though we're nowhere near the ring-giving point). IOW, when it's right, the ring is a constant reminder, a thrill. When it's not, it's a ball and chain.

I know this isn't serious, but I'm answering seriously. Why? Because I have no life! :P

8. Actually---not knowing this was a copycat---
I would.

I'm divorced, but really love the ring. Never had such a beautiful, dear (or expensive) item, and I really wish I could wear it.

14. i've worn a ring on that finger for better than 10 years
single or not

for a good chunk of that time, it was a ring given me by a guy i dated for severn years. after he and i broke it off, i bought myself a ring i really liked and it only fit on that finger. now, i wear a nice one given me by my dad's girlfriend. again, it's the only finger it fits.

i did get hassled by one of the guys i work with about wearing a ring on that finger while i was single. i told him that i didn't care if it drove away guys and that, if i wanted them to know i was single, i'd let them know...then i told him to mind his own business
