Dave's Insanity hot sauce fans, how hot are his other sauces?
I find the serving size of his insane sauce to be one drop so I use it in only a small number of dishes. Are his non-insane sauces mild according to his standards, i.e., just very hot or are they really mild?

As a baseline, I think Tabasco sauce has virtually no heat. Thanks.

1. I can't vouch for anything but his Ultimate Insanity Hot Sauce.
That might be a notch up from the one you're talking about, if you like the heat :7

4. I almost put a guy in the hospital with that stuff.
On a 747 cargo flight crew.
We took turns going back into the upper deck compartment for meals.
Two watched the store while the other guy ate.
The guys I flew with knew I always carried 2 or 3 bottles of hot sauces in my nav kit.

"OK if I go eat first? I'm starving. Hey trof, what kinda hot sauce you got this week?"

"I've got 'Scorned Woman', regular ol' Tabasco, and some SERIOUSLY hot shit called 'Dave's Insanity Sauce'."
"I'll try the Dave's Insanity".
"OK, but I'm serious. This stuff is beyond hot. Just use ONE drop and really mix it around good."
"OK."

About 20 minutes later, over the engine noise and the sound of the wind rushing by the cockpit I heard something that sounded like "GAAACK!"
"I better check on Ed. Mind the store for a minute."

I walked back to see Ed with his meal on his tray, red faced, eyes bulging, veins in his forehead in bold relief, and he seemed to be having trouble breathing.
"You OK?"
"N-N-N-NO! H-H-H-OT! JEE-SUS!"

I grabbed the other two meals and took the cucumber slices off the salads and gave them to him. Then I got a carton of yogurt.
"Eat this, and DON'T drink any water. That'll just make it worse."

I stayed with him for a couple of minutes until he seemed to be breathing normally again.

When he came back up in the cockpit he said "HOLY SHIT! I've never HAD anything like that."
"I told you it was really hot. I wouldn't kid about something like that."
"Yeah, I thought you were just thinking I couldn't take a little hot sauce. I was gonna show you. Never again."

5. Dave's Ultimate is not hot sauce. It's concentrated evil.

6. Tabasco has a little heat but a lot of flavor.
I traveled Jamaica over twenty years collecting hot sauces - maybe two dezen different labels. The one that stood out and was a big plus to my barbecues sauce was 'Jamaican Hell Fire. Sad day when that bottle was emptied.

11. Jamaican Hell Fire is toxic waste untl you follow their directions:
Cut with three parts water, one part vinegar, one part 'Jamaican Hell Fire'. Don't improvise.

16. One of the guys at my last job brought that in to work one day.
Every now and then a couple of the less intelligent workers would make bets about who could do shots of hot sauce and stupid things like that. Somebody made a bet involving hot sauce plus a few drops of that.

Only one person tried it, and after seeing how he took it, nobody else did. :)

17. Huge pot of beans was made with 'Hellfire' for "The Boys' famous weeklong fishing trip...
Everyone had one taste and immediatly understood how lethal the concoction was. Everyone except our own little Barney Fife who totally enjoyed it, and over the course of week, he consumed the entire pot by himself. The biggest braggadocio of the group later admitted (in private) that it was the hottest shit he had ever tasted, and that says a lot. Oh, did I mention I neglected to dilute it and only used a quarter of the bottle?

14. Great stuff. I like their hot-o-meter, a valuable tool.

I like that it puts sauce in perspective. I feel as if I'm more informed about where some sauces are in relation to how hot Dave's is. Many thanks for the link.

19. You just reminded me of the Zest Fest here in Fort Worth this
weekend. Sponsored by a locally published magazine dedicated to chile peppers and all their uses. I was going to buzz over there, actually.

23. Dave's Hurtin' Habanero is really good
It's hot, but in a pleasant, food-enhancing with a bit of sweat way. Nothing like the Insanity Sauce, and it's not as hot as the title suggests.

Scorned Woman hot sauce is pretty rockin' too.
