Fifteen 12 packs of Mountain Dew a week |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-07-07 02:44 AM by Droopy
I was talking to a guy that I work with yesterday and he said he used to drink fifteen 12 packs of Mountain Dew a week. He said he also used to spend $150 a night at a bar. If you are spending that much money in a bar every night you are probably buying more than just the whiskey if you get my drift, but he didn't elaborate on that.
He is now a diabetic and half of his teeth have rotted out. The guy is only about 35-40 years old I'd say.
He has substituted his Mountain Dew jones for Diet Mountain Dew. I don't think that stuff is good for you either if drank in large quantities. We're truck drivers and I watched him clean out his truck at the end of his shift. He crushed 10 Diet Mountain Dew cans with his foot and took them home with him in a bag. At least he recycles, I'll give him that much.

2. I told him that I just drink water now |
|
because of a scare that I had probably from drinking too much pop. I was drinking about 3 twelve packs a week of Diet Pepsi. When I went for a physical recently they told me that I had a trace of blood in my urine and it was probably due to drinking too much pop. They told me not to drink any carbonated beverages for a month and then get checked out again. The results were negative this time. I'm sticking with my water.
After I told him that he said he just couldn't drink water all the time. He didn't like it.

8. oy, he's going to have some killer caffeine withdrawal |
|
I only consume a fraction of that and I have horrible headaches if I don't get my regular fix. He's going to have a hard time coming off that. Damn.

9. I've been trying to get off pop too, I've found that Milk is a great substitute |
|
I really hate water. The problem with milk though, is that it doesn't keep too well, especially if you bring it to work or whatever (warm milk, ew).

3. Wow, that is a lot of soda! |
|
I have a friend who I pick on for drinking four Dr. Peppers a day, but that would only equal about two-and-one-third twelve packs a week, so this guy definitely has him beat!
I do give him props on his drink of choice, though; of all soda-type drinks, Mountain Dew is my favorite. It's the only high-caffeine beverage I care for that much, so when I'm needing caffeine it tends to be what I pick. I don't really like any diet drinks (except Fresca, which I think is tolerable but not great); I'd just switch to water before I'd drink diet drinks, though I know it's a different situation for him if he's drinking them for the caffeine.
It sucks drinking all those sodas has messed up his body that much. Does he not realize that they have caused much of the damage to him? But I guess it would be very difficult to give them up after drinking so many for so long.

4. He knows it's messed him up |
|
One thing about him is that he's not a real big guy. You'd think that after consuming that much sugar that he'd be very overweight. Maybe he's lost some weight.

7. Ask him if he can switch to Diet Rite. At least that has splenda in it and not |
|
aspartame which is really bad for you. I bet he wouldn't like it too much though because it has no caffeine in it. BUT it also has no salt which is what they put in soda to get you to keep drinking it.
Even bubbly water and fruit juice is great. Or if he can afford it there are great sodas at the health food store. One is called "Ginseng up' and it tastes great and has ginseng in it.....of course.
Other good ones are Vernon's ginger ale or sarsaparilla because they contain natural stuff.
The guy must feel awful. When I used to drink diet soda I felt sick all the time. I don't drink much Rite aid at all but when I do it doesn't bother me.

10. With that much liquid, does he stop every 1/2 hour to pee? |
|
Or does he fill up old milk jugs and toss?
