Took my cat Buddy to the vet today
When I put him in the carrier, he howled like I was beating him. Poor thing.

He just went in for his annual shots and physical. He is perfectly healthy. Well who wouldn't be? He just lays around the house all day, has never had a job (so no stress), gets free food and medical care without lifting a finger. I'd be pretty damn healthy to.

Here is the moocher:

3. what a doll!
you'd think, by the sounds they make when we put them in the carrier, that they were the most abused and mistreated animals ever

5. It was really hard to get him in the carrier at home
But after they were done at the vet, he was more than willing to get back in it.

11. He's been very quiet since we got back though
He didn't sit by me when I was watching TV and did not sleep on my bed like he usually does and didn't greet me this morning, like he usually does. I hope it's just that he's tired from yesterday and not a bad reaction to the shots.

15. He okay. He's just pissed at you and is in ignore mode
The next step will be makeup with alatimer time. That will probably be the "you're forgiven" licks on the cheek at about 3:00 AM to disturb your sleep and wake you up.

6. You know, I know a bunch of dogs named Buddy...
but this is the first cat I have seen with the name. Have to admit from the picture the name fits. What a beautiful guy, although he definitely looks like pure trouble to me!

8. Never had a job! Harrrumph!!!
You think guarding your domicile from a potential rodent invasion isn't a job? It's not just lying around the house all day, you know!

You think that squirming on the carpet for a chin itch and a whisker scratching isn't a job?! It's theater.

12. When was the last time you beat Buddy?????????
I am disturbed by this statement "When I put him in the carrier, he howled like I was beating him. Poor thing."

That implies that at some point you have beaten Buddy and he was making the same sound today.
:sarcasm:

I know you have never beaten him. My cats make the same type of wailing noise whenever they have to go to the vet. I have seen some people carry their cats to the vet in a cloth sack. I thought that was cruel at first but maybe it isn't? I was afraid my guys were going to hurt themselves trying to get out of the carrier.

17. I have to take my guy on Monday
He'll make the same sound - all the way to the vet's. But once he gets there and the vet and all the techs are telling him what a good boy he is and how beautiful he is and generally sucking up to him, he loves it. He purrs so loud, its hard for them to hear his heartbeat.

Cats are so funny - and Buddy's gorgeous. :hi:

19. Pippy is the opposite
She might fuss a little on the way over, but nothing too dramatic. Once we get there, though, it's show time. The doc can't hear her heart because she's growling non-stop. I'm surprised she doesn't grab a scalpel and threaten the vet!

22. Sounds like the typical cat to me
He sort of reminds me of the tabby I had as a kid. We called her Frisky. I have seen that exact pose before.
