SNL's "Dick in a Box" skit is up for an Emmy
The "uncensored" in the link below should enlighten you to the NSFW qualities of the skit.

I hope it wins, because just knowing that someone will have to engrave "Dick in a Box" on an Emmy makes me chuckle.

8. Is the song a parody of a popular tune?
I mean, it's funny right out of the box--so to speak--but I'm curious as to what the source material might be.

11. it was funny but not Emmy worthy
SNL has really fallen off the past few years. The cast members look/talk like hipsters. The show is really full of itself- it takes 15 min to get through the opening credits. In addition, SNL is so cozy with celebs that it's afraid to really make fun of them.

I estimate mad tv to be about 83.3 times funnier. The content is much more risky and edgy, the cast is way more talented... it actually reminds me of old-time SNL where you could tell that they were having a good ol' time making the show. Plus mad tv doesn't bore me with musical guests and skits that tank and go on forever.

27. Nah. It was part of the "creative" Emmys handed out this past Saturday.
Instead the nation will be treated to another Dick in the Box, Ryan Seacrest as host.

Oddly enough...back in the day, mid '90s, I and my colleagues were in an Emmy-nominee program, for best choreography.
We lost that year...to the Drew Carey episode called "Drew Carey's Dance Party." Once I saw the DC episode, I had to agree. :)
