Today's College Football Thread
Plenty of good games lined up today ... Who's your team play today?

My team will be renewing one of the best non-conference rivalries of the 1980s, between two of the most successful and most hated teams of that decade:

Miami Hurricanes at the Oklahoma Sooners. I'll be pulling for the Sooners :)

What games will you be watching?

10. it seems as tough many years they'll surprise someone
but generally lose the rest of their games. Didn't they beat Georgia last year? (And was it last year that they almost beat Arkansas?)

But even though they put up a good number last week, I've still got to see more before I can give them too much credit ;)

The Hogs played one game and then took the weekend off. Go figure. They have a huge game next week against Alabama, so at least they will be rested and ready.

I'll probably watch some of the BC-NC State game and whatever Atlantic 10 game is on.

I thought Mike Stoops would have gotten that Arizona program going a little bit better now, but he hasn't ever turned the corner.

It's been a while since I really followed Northern Arizona, but as a Broncos fan I remember the QB they had back in the mid '90s--Jeff Lewis, who was taken in the fourth round as a possible successor to Elway ...

He is on the hot seat this year.

The Lumberjacks scored 47 points in their opener vs Western New Mexico,
the Wildcats 7 vs BYU

Could be another season of woe for the Wildcats

NAU plays Appalachian State next week.

20. My team is playing the TCU Cockroaches.
Okay, I'm not trying to slur TCU, it relates to an incident from 1961, when TCU upset Texas. Afterwards, the Texas coach said "They are like cockraoches. It's not what they eat or carry off, it's what they fall into and mess up."

24. Yeah. DR. You are correct, TCU could win this game, and I wouldn't even
think of them as falling into it. Texas is always poorly coached, but usually has a lot of talent to make up for it. That talent looked bad last week. And though I didn't see TCU, I hear they looked good.

25. They have a really young offensive line, right?
Not to take anything away from what Colt McCoy did last year, but a great offensive line will sure help a freshman quarterback look good. (Oklahoma fans are seeing the same thing with our freshman QB and great O-line this year.) I think that was a big reason the talent didn't look so good last week. (I didn't see the game, though, so it's all idle speculation :))
