Anyone work as a consultant?

I'm thinking that forming a one-man LLC is the way to go to handle some part-time software consulting I hope to start doing this week. Have any DU'ers done this? It seems pretty easy, and I understand that I can write-off the licensing fee and the fee for some tax advice.

The plan is that this supplemental income should get us 100% out of credit card debt and pay off my car by April, which would be pretty awesome. Then we could plan on buying a home in a year...
