If you love someone
or care about someone, please show them. They should know it. If you love someone and they don't know it, then it may be wasted. Worse, they might even think you don't. We never know when someone may be taken from us, or when we might be taken ourselves. Please don't your loved ones for granted. That is my humble request.

2. And a good one
Lost a ton of people over a short time, and now I cannot make new memories with them or enjoy the sound of their laughter.

I should have filled up while I was at the station of their life :)

4. Hard for some of us to do, but it IS important.
For me personally, I don't need to hear "I love you" 43 times a day from someone; if anything, that irritates me. I know they love me, or else I'd be on the street. Similarly, I sorta expect people to know that if I haven't brutally attacked them, it means I care about them; if I didn't care, I wouldn't hang out wit 'em.

But some people need to hear it, so if you need it, let people know. ;)

6. most of the time, it's not "hearing" it that is needed
it's feeling it

My son says "I love you" every day. Unfortunately, his actions usually say "go to hell, mom"

5. Good advice.
I tell my wife all the time that I love her.
I randomly bring home flowers with a card that says something silly like 'Happy Tuesday 5 pm!!'.
I do my share of chores happily (or fake-happily) without needed to be prompted.
I get up with the baby at 3:30 am so she can sleep.
I do this thing with my tou..... well, you know.

You never can tell if someone might go nutters on you.
You got a right shitty deal there.
Except for the kids. Looks like you've got two good kids.

8. So very true
Which is why I make a strong effort to keep in touch with my dad and stay on good terms with him, though we've had our problems through the years.

My best friend lost his dad several years ago with a lot of things left unsaid. It still causes him pain.

Good reminder, my friend.

13. My dear billy...
Oh, how true your words are, sweetie...

I always tell my loved ones how much they mean to me...

To the point that sometimes I think I'm annoying...

But I don't care ...

Because you never know when you might not be able to say it...

Or they might not be able to hear it...

And that goes for you too, sweetie....cause I love you! :loveya:

Edited on Sun Sep-09-07 07:12 AM by billyskank
We all think we're going to last forever. :(

In my original post, I said when somebody MAY be taken from us, or when we MIGHT be taken ourselves. I should of course have said WILL in both cases.

30. How very true
I'm a visiting nurse, and one of my (former) patients - (he went into hospice) - died over the weekend. I went to see him as a friend on Friday afternoon, and I'm so glad I did. The thing is, one of his sons was hemming and hawing about coming down to see him this weekend from NH (we're in MA) - the son had a wedding he had to attend.
I only hope he bagged it and saw his father before he died - he was a great old guy - used to be a rodeo rider in his younger days - 5ft tall and built like a fire-plug.
I'll miss you Bill -RIP.
