i decided to suck it up and just voice my opinion on hillary in du. i've been holding back for awhile because GD can get so crazy, but i decided i shouldn't let that censor me. ;) http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x1764012#topI tried to post it in a way that wouldn't cause a flame war.

i didn't bash hillary and i didn't say i would vote republican(got knows i wouldn't do that, lol). i just tried to start a civilized discussion about my concerns about hillary clinton.

5. Anything that smacks of voting 'other' tends to turn into a DU mosh pit. |
|
At least that's my experience with it.

6. how so? i thought part of liberalism was accepting people of all views |
|
and trying to relate with them rather than bash them. attacking some one is no way to make them change their mind.

7. You would think so but... |
|
I once tried to talk about that very concept here once: that attacking Greens and other third party groups and calling them belittling names, surprisingly, won't actually convince them to vote democrat. Heck, I even used a very nice, soft written tone.
I got so many flames my monitor just about melted.

9. funny thing is that i consider myself a democrat |
|
problem is that i just don't consider myself the same type of democrat hillary seems to consider herself. i'm in alabama so if hill is the nominee my vote really won't matter.. i was just trying to shed some light on why i and some others are not too enthusiastic about her being the possible nominee.
heck, i may end up "holding my nose" and voting for her, but if i do it will be REALLY hard for me.

11. it is, so i can see why attitudes flare |
|
but sheesh... some of those responses just make no sense. however, thankfully a majority of them make sense and make for a good discussion!

12. i have the same concerns as you and more when it comes to |
|
hillary. i want to like her, really i do. i just can't bring myself to trust her.
i am still a gore hold out. my dream ticket is gore/clark. i am really looking ALL the candidates over and still trying to decide. it is a long way til the election. i think this campaign season has really shown me that we need some election reform. it is just too crazy and too much money is spent.
