What was the LAST concert you ever went to?
Edited on Sat Sep-08-07 05:56 PM by flvegan
Last concert, meaning the most recent or latest one you've been to.

We've got a thread on the FIRST one you ever went to, but what was the last one you went to? Was it good?

For me, Jason Isbell (formerly with Drive By Truckers) put on a fan-damn-tastic show at The CrowBar in August. It was a small venue, and I spent the evening with a very clear view, roughly 5 feet from the stage with the musicians at eye level.

The last BIG show I went to was probably last years outside multi-stage radio station fest with Rise Against, Fallout Boy, etc. Indoor headliner show? I think that was the Beastie Boys at the Forum (I shook hands with Mixmaster Mike!!).

You?

on edit: defined "last"

Went to his site and read the dates...no date in Michigan (or if there was it was crossed out?)

Hope it was fun! :-)

Twice in Philadelphia (including the 10th row) and once at Live Earth.

I have great camera pictures from the concert in Philly where I was 10th row.

This is my cell phone wallpaper:

And a nice closeup of Roger

This one was a freebie - KC & the Sunshine Band were playing for the employees of the place where I work for celebrating its 150th anniversary. This was back in 2000.

I don't normally go to concerts so this was easily the last one I've been to.

We were in the 200 level. I think sometime during Fall Out Boys I noticed everyone in the next section all staring back at the luxury box behind the section. Turns out Al Gore was in there.

So a bunch of us waited outside the luxury box and when he left I was one of the people who he shook hands with

It's great to see and hear him. It's not the same voice, of course. It hadn't been used for so long. But it's just wonderful that he's on stage again.

And Summer Wardrobe was great, especially the guitarist Jon Sanchez. Usually he plays with the Explosives. I feel lucky to have caught him with such an original guitarist.

105. I saw a very interesting film about him a week after the show
It's called You're Gonna Miss Me (I'm sure you know why), and it's about his lost years, when his mother kept him off his medications and isolated from the world. I think it's on DVD now. It's sort of like Capturing the Friedmans (without the pedophilia) Texas-style. But it has a happier ending.

68. I'm the middle aged mom of a 14-year-old. In the
last year alone I've been to Warped Tour (twice), seen Fall Out Boy with + 44 at the Forum in LA, My Chemical Romance at the same venue, Fall Out Boy (again) in a small club setting at the Roxy in LA, Aiden (my daughter's current favorite) at a small club in Ventura, Escape the Fate (another favorite) at the Troubador in West Hollywood, and met internet celebrity Jeffree Starr on three separate occasions.

Before my daughter got interested in this kind of music, the last concert I went to because I wanted to go was to see Paul McCartney at Staples Center. Much easier on the ears.

A Pakistani fusion band. The drum playing was quite wonderful, and the way the main drummer whirled while he played his dhol was amazing. One of the things I still love about the campus where I live is that concerts are within a short walking distance. Last year I got to see traditional Arab and Iranian musicians at the same auditorium, and I hope they come back again this year.

140. That was my last concert too!
At the Tabernacle here in Atlanta, back in October I believe. The venue has a standing area on the ground, with two tiers of seating around the stage. I was in the standing area a few rows back from the stage, directly in front of Del Marquis. :swoon:

That was absolutely one of the best concerts I've ever been to! The energy of the crowd was amazing, and the band put on a great show! When they did encores of "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" and "Take Your Mama Out," I screamed my head off!

I was hoarse for three days after that concert. :)

150. hey i think that was the last concert i saw too
(i saw the Rev more recently)

Reminds me of a funny thing that happened ages ago. The Reverand was opening for Smashing Pumpkins back in like 1994 or so at a huge venue. Well he kicked ass but then Smashing Pumpkins got on the stage and Billy Corgan said something generally derogatory, and at this point everybody started throwing their shoes at him. (i don't know how this got started) One guy's boot hit him square in the face and he just walked off stage and that was it, end of show. I hated Smashing Pumpkins ever since then.

156. Mine
Played a gig at a coffee house.

Just me and a rack of keyboards. I'm not used to going out as a solo act. I really need a singer, preferably a tenor.
