There is now 19.2 pounds less of the ol' Droopster
I weighed in at 268.2 yesterday. That's down from 287.4- the heaviest I've ever been. I didn't know I was that heavy until I went for a physical recently. I didn't own a set of scales and I wasn't all that worried about my weight.

For a long time I was satisfied with being in the 250-260 pound range. Now I'm getting serious about my health and I'm going to get down to 200 pounds.

The main culprits were sugar and to a lesser degree beer and pizza. When I started dieting I figured up that I had been consuming about 1500 calories a day in sugar rich food and drinks. A typical snack for me would be one of those six packs of mini donuts that Hostess makes along with a pint of chocolate milk. That alone is 880 calories. I would celebrate the weekend by drinking beer and eating pizza. It wasn't uncommon for me to drink a six pack and eat a medium pizza from Domino's on a Saturday evening.

So I gave up the sugar and beer and pizza. I've started eating right and I drink nothing but water. I also take a multi-vitamin. I get quite a bit of exercise at work, but if the weight starts coming off slower I will also add more exercise.

Here's to your health :toast: <---- that's water in those mugs.

2. Awesome job!
Though don't completely avoid the stuff that you really enjoy eating/drinking, just have less.

4. I'm afraid that there's no middle path when it comes to sugar and beer

At least not for me. I could never consume those things in moderation. I don't really miss the sugar now, but it's at times like these when I do miss the beer. Sitting around on a Saturday night.

5. I salute you.
That is terrific. I stopped drinking soft drinks about five years ago. I loved them but hated the weight they added.

How much weight did you lose after you quit consuming the pop?

7. Heh.
Probably ten pounds, and that's it. Then I started to eat better, and I've dropped a bit more. No raving success story, but I do not gain weight any more. Yet. I hope. Keeping my fingers crossed. It's something I have to work at, but in the last nine months I did drop a pants size.

 Congratulations, my friend - I am very happy for you! :hi: You've lost the equivalent of my dog in weight (random, I know...lol). It sounds like you're working very hard to get (and stay!) healthy, which is a great thing. :) Keep up the good work!

Yeah, the physical and a health scare has set me on the straight and narrow. It might be kind of sad that it took that, but hopefully it happened in time for me to reverse the damage. Hell, I lived like a glutton long enough I guess. I had fun. Now it's time to get serious.

13. Thanks
I'm gonna have to go right down to the Tractor Supply store and get me some new bib overalls pretty soon it looks like. I guess with all of the money I'm saving on food I should be able to budget that in. :)
