the local orthodox church held their annual Greek Festival. Moussaka, spanakopita, and fantastic desserts.
A culture built on filo dough can't be wrong.

3. Is the five way from Skyline Greek food? |
|
Spaghetti, beans, onions, cheese, and chili. How about the cheese coney? Hot dog bun, hot dog, onions, mustard, chili, and cheese.
They say that a native from Greece brought the traditional foods that he grew up on and loved to America to share all of the delicious taste with us and founded Skyline chili.

13. the basic Skyline chili is definitly related to the meat sauce used |

in pastistso, the Greek version of lasagna. LOVE me some 5-way! Kroger here in Texas bravely sells the seasoning mix to make Cincinnati chili, which I buy several packets at a time and stock up so when we get the urge for a 5way I have the stuff on hand.
I did a casserole version of a 5-way for a church supper; used little macaroni shaped like Texas and Stars instead of spaghetti and layered it up; turned out pretty good and everyone liked it, even though they all said "It isn't really chili, you know" to which I replied "Of Course I know that, it has no chiles in it but it is still damn good"

5. Yum! I'm half Greek and I loves me the Greek food. |

I recently adapted my grandmother's dolmades recipe to make it diabetes-friendly for my husband. Used brown rice and ground chicken. And made the egg-lemon sauce with egg beaters. It was fan-freaking-tastic.

10. No problem. I'm running out the door today but I'll write a note to remind myself. |
|
It's a fairly straightforward recipe, but so delicious.

We have a large mid-east population here (mid-sized city), with plenty of Greek and Lebanese restaurants to choose from. Always my pick. The Mediterranean diet, with an emphasis on seafood, has been my favorite for weight-control and healthy eating. It has certainly been the easiest plan to follow.
