Barry White's "You're The First, The Last, My Everything" was written in 1953 as a country song.
I discovered this little fact tonight while looking up the correct version of the title. Originally called "You're My First, You're My Last, My In-Between," it was written in 1953 as a country song. White kept the structure and most of the title, and rewrote the lyrics (no idea how much, though).
