they really do walk/run on water, altho i'm not sure if they call them the "jesus christ" lizard to humor the tourists or if locals would really call them that
they are funny as heck, panama and costa rica both -- and not rare at all, if you go, you will see them
maybe i shouldn't confess it, but the funniest one i saw was when i was in back of some drainage pipe in some panama woodland area taking a pee and for some reason my nice gentle female pee scared one up!

There is another video that I did not post of an Australian lizard that flares his throat read wide, (it is at the side after this video). Anyway, that thing runs so funny! His knees go up to the sides and his arms are in between them. They booth look like cartoons.
EDIT: It's called "Freaky Lizard"
