1. THE Spiderman?
As in Peter Peter Parker in tights??? Any idea why?

My son has a huge fear of real bugs, spiders, bees, wasps....like they are all out to get him. Funny thing is, he's never been stung or bitten, let alone touched by a them....oh well.

28. Me too!
I also hated to listen to the band as a child. They'd set it up in the gym and it would hurt my ears and head. Really loud music has always turned me off since then.

6. My daughter has a fear of wet papertowels and um, she's 18.
She doesn't like Handiwipes either. If she spills something she gets creeped out wiping it up with papertowels and uses way more than necessary so she doesn't have to touch actual wet papertowels.

7. Automatic toilets and hand dryers
Set us back 6 months potty training. She will actually look for a hand dryer as she enters the restroom. If she sees one, she holds her ears on her way to the stall. She is now 5.

She has super sensitive ears - both of those things are REALLY loud.

Oh yeah - also the vacuum cleaner - same reason.

9. We saw the Blue Angels a few weeks ago and it was absolute torture for her
We hunted for ear plugs but didn't find any in time. She held her ears, then I held her ears - that seemed to help.

They were great to see, but next time we will make sure we have headphones!

10. I took my son to my sister's cheerleading competition.
We had to go wait in the hall until her team was ready, watch her and then get out. The noise had him about ready to cry, but he didn't want to miss her.

I need to find some kid-size earplugs somewhere.

14. Omg. Yeah.
JackMN has texture issues. He won't eat anything remotely tough to chew. He also won't eat candy, ice cream, cookies, etc. He doesn't like people to touch his hands, ears, or feet. He screams, cries, and flails every time I brush his teeth or change his diaper.

SophieMN isn't afraid of pretty much anything.

NoelMN has issues with routine. He's paranoid about being late, doesn't like it if his schedule is changed, and grooms his hair constantly. He also refused to wear shorts for a year or two. HE owuld wear pants no matter how hot it was.

15. Lelapin did some of those things
she wore denim once when she was about 3 and then not a single pair of jeans until she started riding horses in 5th or 6th grade. I got pink denim overalls for her and she screamed and clawed her legs when they were on her.

She also couldn't tolerate loud noises and dark crowded places like movie theaters made her panic and shake in fear.

16. Moths and bees and wasps
Dropkid *freaks* about moths. This is the kid whose ass I regularly have to go bug-patrol on because she is always bringing buckets of bugs into the house to keep as "pets". She loves all the creepy crawlies except for the above mentioned. She had a huge locust shell collection in an old lunchbox and it would freak her friends out, but the dog ate it

My best friend did that once with a daddy long legs in the bathroom. Only it was by the door so she had to wait in the bathroom until her husband came home to move it, and he's a trucker so she was in there all day.

I should mention the phobia got started when we were kids and I set one on her arm.

Of absolute terror of the bathtub drain. We had to do sponge baths for a while... luckily, we were able to help her get over that one. She was afraid that she was going to go down the drain with the water, and we did a lot of showing her that we (and thus she) could not fit down the drain.

44. when she was little, my daughter was afraid of the 35W Bridge.
yeah, that one.
she was actually so scared of bridges we had to warn her as we approached one, so she could close her eyes and put her hands over them until we'd crossed over.
The 35W bridge was the worst, especially going south. there's a spot where the angle makes it look like there's nothing but a giant void between you and downtown.

or, there was, anyway.
