All the schadenfreude over the Wolverines' troubles, is just good natured ribbing |
|
That's because for years, UofM has been sitting at the top of the food chain. Maize and blue, the "Victors". "Go Blue" and all that. They're going through hard times right now, not indicative of its legacy of winning. I guess fans of rivals are having the time of their lives.
I'm originally from Michigan, as most of know, and the Wolverines have always been my team. I've always looked up to the Wolverines, in a time where flash and hype got all the attention, the Wolverines plug along with an ethic based on hard work and tradition.
I've always enjoyed watching Michigan games, here in Virginia, they remind me of good times at home. Especially, when hard times are going down in Michigan.
Michigan fans are in pain right now. Because we know that something that was as sure as the leaves turning in the fall and being surrounded by fresh water, a Michigan win that relied on good, basic football was there for us on our Saturdays.
So rib, if you must, it's ok. We'll be back.

Michigan doesn't need another loss right now.
It's my home state, too. I visited the U.P. this summer and got a good sense of the state's economic woes, especially from talking with people.
I'm not a football fan, but my support goes out to Michiganians (or Michiganders, if you prefer).
