Ten. I don't know if that's good, and maybe I'm out of shape, but I feel horrible.

I lost 1.2 lbs just walking that.

3. I'm certain I'll sleep well tonight!
Though I must say I'm feeling better than when I first arrived at home. I don't know if I can do it again, today was a cool day, but this will be tried again when it's cooler, that is if it doesn't stay cool.

2. My dear originalpckelly...
Ask you anything?

OK......Why?

I'll bet you feel awful...

You'll probably have a few sore muscles tomorrow...

You might want to soak in a nice warm bath!

You're most likely dehydrated...

4. Oh actually, about half way through I took a little break and had a whole liter of water.
And before I left I had a 1/2 liter.

And as for the sore muscles, I headed them off at the pass, rested and then had a hot bath! AHAHAHA! Bite me sore muscles, you'll not get me!

I'm only sore around the shoulders. Why, you're guess is as good as mine. No clue in the world.

5. I agree with CalPeggy -- you may be dehydrated.

That will make you feel pretty crappy and losing a lb during the walk says that you may not have been replenishing your liquid loss. When I hike I drink a pint of water every mile, minimum. Walking, it's more like a pint for every 5 miles unless it's a very hot day.

Of course, I'm speaking from my own experience and CalPeggy is a nurse, so I'd say she's got a better understanding of this than me.

on edit: I usually feel better having smaller amounts at more regular intervals rather than downing a liter bottle at once. Try it next time and see if that helps. Also, if you're wearing a short sleeved shirt, check the inside bend of your elbow every so often. If you're hydrated it should feel clammy or damp. If you're getting dehydrated it will feel dry. I'm not sure that the former is a good gauge on proper hydration but the latter is a good indication of dehydration --if it feels dry, stop and drink something.

7. Oh I'm a sweater, and did so the whole way of the walk!
And thanks for the advice, too! On of the only reasons I did this today was that it was soooo nice and cool. I wasn't hardly hot at all.

11. About 2 hours or so.
I was walking around 5 mph or even faster. Keep in mind I had a break in between the halves of the walk.

14. That's good. Takes me 45 minutes for 3 miles.
Unless I stop to chat with a neighbor.
