1. Nebraska is equally as boring |
|
But when I was driving long haul I actually enjoyed driving through those states, at least when there wasn't a snow storm going on. That's easy money. Set the cruise and forget about it for six hours.
Damn, I actually miss it now. :(

But I-80 runs right by Lincoln and I've been in that town before. It's a pretty cool place I guess.

Nebraska has towns along the interstate, at least.
A fun drive, it's not. But at least you don't have to worry about having car trouble and then dying of old age before anyone comes along to help.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, guess just because I am a plains guy, I enjoy the view in Nebraska, even while driving along I-80. I will say Eastern Colorado on 76 is pretty gosh darn desolate....but yeah yeah yeah, I know you have your mountains eventually. Hehehe
I have loved something about the landscape of every state I have been to. Only a few left, and of those I know they have beautiful ones.
BTW, anyone here from North Carolina, what a beautiful state you have.
Peace

I think it has the lowest population. But there are some mountains and rock formations out that way. :)

I think we saw ONE town and a gas station when we drove across it in 1996 to go to Utah for a convention (relating to deaf issues). Colorado was the most exciting I've seen, beautiful Rockies.
Seemed to take forever getting out of Wyoming. I was like, "Are we out of Wyoming yet?" Grrr!
The most annoying trip I've taken was a road trip to Italy (drove across France, Germany, and Switzerland before Italy) and camping out next to a lake..... which meant.... Midges! yikes.

I went to a lot of Alexander Graham Bell conventions and that year the AG Bell convention was held in Snowbird, Utah 1996 (not for the past 7 years though, due to college and now moved to the UK). I had heard lots of things about Utah... and it wasn't so bad... in fact it was quite beautiful!
My last AG Bell convention was in Philadelphia in 2000 (a couple of weeks before the RNC convention, ugh... I had hoped our presence would hex them into losing!). For once, the AG Bell convention next year is close by my state! Would have made my parents' travel much easier!

For instance, Goldsboro has to be the shittiest town in America. Fayetteville isn't even that bad.

24. To drive across? Nevada. No question. |
|
I-80 or Highway 50 from Utah to Reno is honest-to-god the single most boring and uninhabited shithole in the WORLD.
Nevada loses the most-boring distinction if you're talking about Las Vegas or Lake Tahoe, obviously.

34. Well to defend North Dakota... |
|
I lived there when I was young and still have family there. Eastern and Central North Dakota are about as flat as can be...and is a bit boring...though there is something cool about being able to see the next small town 10 miles away like it is across the street. However, come upon a field of sunflowers(one of North Dakota's larger agricultural products), and it can be quite breathtaking...
Also, the badlands in the west are very picturesque!!!
