It's a wonderful day! I'm grinning from ear-to-ear!
We got the news that we won the appeal regarding my husband's disability pension. The application was denied this past spring and we, along with my husband's doctor, were shocked. We appealed and today got the news that we won the appeal! We are getting one year of back pension.

This is such wonderful news! You have no idea how much this means. There have been days during the past months, where, even though I work full time, that we were down to basically no food in the house. Electricity and gas was cut off for a time. Sometimes we couldn't make the car payments and we had to apply for government assistance.

The humiliation was so great that I sometimes couldn't look my friends in the face. We were on the verge of declaring bankruptcy and were pawning and selling family heirlooms and my husband's book collection to get grocery money.

We will now be able to pay the bills and get ahead a bit. I can't wait to be able to stock the pantry and freezer. I am so thankful that things turned out this way.

7. Congrats!
That must be a huge relief! I'm glad you were able to prevail. I'm sad that you felt ashamed about your situation. :(

8. I got a notice saying they were cutting my power
I called the electric company and they wanted 250.00 by the end of September or they were really going to cut me off. I am on disability, and after I pay rent and my bills, I barely have enough to buy toilet paper, soap, kitty litter and cat food. I was really stressing out!

I just found out today that the Ryan White fund has allocated 600.00 per client for this year!! Not only are they going to pay my electric/gas bill, they are going to pay my rent!! I was so relieved!!

Congrats on your hubby's pension. It's always nice to have a lot of food in the house after going without for so long.

We're still all pretty thrilled around here. I have never looked so forward to paying bills! It is going to feel so good to see zero balances on everything except the bank account.
