New Indiana Jones Movie title revealed...
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"...

Gotta say Harrison Ford is looking pretty fit for a 65 year old man...

1. That's one corny ass title.
Of course "The Temple of Doom" wasn't really the apex of Hollywood creativity either.

11. The crystal skull is a genuine historical artifact.
Believed to be Aztec. It's a beautiful object, full of mystery.

The flick should be interesting.

12. Not so mysterious, actually
Nor all that http://www.skepdic.com/crystalskull.html">uncommon. I hope that Indy isn't swindled by some huckster hoping to unload an ersatz artifact!

And I agree that the title is way too clunky, but it's right in line with Lucas' habit of half-assed titles. Attack of the Clones? Please! :eyes:

15. Wow! Does that mean Indy's going to Atlantis?
Thanks for the link! Obviously my knowledge is a wee bit outdated. Live and learn!

5. dunno what to think...
on the pro side, this film has the return of karen allen, a plot involving marion's dad, a tie to the ark and a promise (due to a lot of pressure from mr. ford) to keep over-the-top cgi to an absolute minimum

con-the title screams 'attack of the clones'

fingers are crossed. i don't care how old harrison is, he'll rock. let's hope spielberg and the script guys have it

7. Scary, isn't it?
I started feeling old a couple years ago when I realised that the latest Batman, for the first time ever, was younger than me. Now Doctor Who is younger than me too...and the 80's are now 20 years ago...*off to sit in my rocking chair and yell at passing kids while shaking my cane at them.*

8. 25 years ago, the youngest actor to play the Doctor was hired.
Peter Davison (aged 29 in 1982).

Davids Tennant was 34 when hired.

Producer Russell T Davies has said he doesn't want an older actor to play the Doctor because our culture says it doesn't trust old people as authority figures. I suppose we were lucky; Christopher Eccleston (44) just made it before the final hurdle...

24. Well, I'm actually from here!
But I don't have cable, so I download torrents of the episodes.

I've been meaning to go back and catch Torchwood from the beginning.

Captain Jack is an awesome character.

18. Goes back to the opening scenes of "Raiders"
The crystal skulls being (allegedly) Mayan and all of that, and I am, at the moment at least, into Mesoamerican culture...

If Harrison and Lucas and Spielberg can pull this off without this being a total waste of my time, then hell, I will convert my religion. Making a really good Indy flick at this point would be as remarkable as making the first Star Wars flick.

I always have hope, though. And I'm apparently the only one in existence to think that Spielberg's gotten better as he ages, even if his movies aren't as commercially successful.
