6. Boring on the surface.... |
|
bordering on hysteria underneath.
(Miss A. is sick already, possibly strep throat. And it's only the second week of school. :banghead: )

14. I got to run the band saw at work |
|
Re-cutting a bunch of part that were cut both wrong and crooked because the saw guides were loose.
Because what I ws cutting off was only a sliver thicker than the blade itself, I had to run the saw extra-slow. The cut-off was about a thick as a slice of bologna.
I timed it. 70 seconds per cut, start-to-start.
That means 65 seconds of staring at the air compressor across the aisle, five seconds to change parts, then 65 more seconds of staring at the air compressor.
Every time I trimmed 12 parts, I'd deburr all of them in the time it takes to cut one, then I'd wash and stack all 12 parts in the time it takes to cut another one.
So I was busy for the first two cut parts, then in zombieland for the next ten.
345 parts total.
THAT'S boring!
My mantra... "paid by the hour, not by the piece".

16. My typical day is waking at 4:30 a.m. |
|
Taking the dogs outside. Dressing for work. Driving to work. Work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drive home. Relax for 1/2 hour, then take the dogs for a walk. Feed the dogs and then feed myself. Have a few glasses of wine and watch TV. Take the dogs outside and then go to bed.

17. A boring day is better than no day! |
|
I kinda enjoy the boring days. I don't look at them as boring...I look at them as restful. Perspective is everything.

I try to remember that there are days that I long for boredom. And there truly are those days.... when something bad happens w/ my kid, or my boss does something irritating at work, or when some important appliance breaks, or...
you know.
Enjoy a boring day today.
You may be wishing for one tomorrow.
