Stoicism is over-rated. Hydrocodone makes me alert and want to get things done. I can't take it if I need to sleep. Sometimes I have the opposite trouble, a lot of neuropathy in my lower extremities, and no pain meds. What kind of pain do you have, Kitchwitch?

9. My artificial hip is being particularly crabby today

and my arthritic wrists (yes I know, probably should not be typing).

I woke up in the middle of the night with the hip last night.

10. All that damn joint pain hurts a lot

mine is mostly spinal. I'm still relatively young looking so I think sometimes people doubt the extent of my discomfort. I hope you feel better soon. I have a TENS unit that I've started to play with. The gals at physical therapy gave me some new electrodes. The bite and tingle of the electricity distracts from the deeper bone pain. I have a friend who actually has an implant with different programs. Now that sounds barbaric to me.

I'd recommend my good friend Percogesic, but it knocks me out. So, not a good option before driving. Is there no one else who might drive for you, but still allow you to be with her daughter for her first lesson?

Anyway, I'm sorry you're feeling this way. One thing is sure...pain sucks.
