4. Pan's Labyrinth
Depressing as possible, but well put together and well-made. I doubt if I would watch it again, though, simply because it's a difficult movie to get through. There is one particularly brutal scene where the captain beating up a prisoner with a bottle.......it's gruesome.

I haven't seen the others, though, I'm afraid.

6. Loved From Dusk Till Dawn ****stars five *****for the music.
Desperado/El Mariachi is okay**stars but Once upon a time in Mexico (the 3rd movie in the series) was superb with Johnny Depp. I have all three but watch Once upon a time ect the most.

10. I've seen one of them.
Desperado is fun, if you like mindless violence with slick directing and no freaking connection to possibility.

Pan's Labyrinth is in my queue too, but I keep bumping it down. I think it's also on the "Watch Now" selection, so you could watch it on your PC.

17. Pan's Labyrinth is the best one on the list that I've seen
I'll echo hyphenate's comments about the brutality of it but it's well done and powerful.

Be sure to follow it up with something lighter I think :)

The only others I've seen are "Goodfellas" and "From Dusk till Dawn"

I think "Goodfellas" was an excellent mob movie, well shot and good character portrayals.

I liked "From Dusk till Dawn" but certainly not as much as the other two I've seen on your list. And I'm not a big horror movie guy and I've heard many people dislike Dusk till Dawn partly because it takes so much from earlier better movies without improving on the themes at all. But I wouldn't know that, and maybe because I didn't expect much from the acting or story I wasn't disappointed.

18. "Henry.." and "Maria Full of Grace".....
"Henry" is the damned creepiest film I've ever seen.. left me creeped out for days- and its a true story!

"Maria full of Grace" is stunning; you may already know that the lead actress (whose name escapes me) was Oscar-nominated. The story of 'drug mules' and the people who employ them is hard to forget.

....Reccomendation: Also check out "Fast Food Nation".. which stars the same actress as "Maria.." and tells a similar story- this time about illegal immigrants exploited by the meatpacking industry.
