You can get in under the wire before the whole housing market collapses and drags down the rest of the economy.

3. There are two houses on auction on my street and nobody came to their open houses |
|
So I figure you could be my neighbor for about $19.95. But don't worry, the economy's just peachy.

8. we're waiting until things circle the drain a little more, then we'll buy in Land Park or midtown. |
|
We've got a few more that are suddenly vacant. I think those are walkaways that are going to go on auction soon as well. Can't imagine any will go for much, they're decent but nobody's buying and it's not the best neighborhood. Likely they'll wind up rentals. :(

9. We have a lot of dead lawns in the charmless tract home subby right now |
|
and the "Bank owned" signs and i think we haven't seen anything close to the bottom yet. I was reading and article in the Bee a few weeks ago that said 40% of new homeowners in Ca. last year got those funky mortgages---not good.

10. and so many were/are cashing out at every opportunity |

I swear, nobody seems to want to- I know this is a novel concept- pay their freakin' loan off anymore. Me, I'd want to actually own my house sometime before I got carried out of it toes first.
I guess the upside is I might actually be able to buy a place here by the time this is all done. I'd convinced myself that was never going to happen.
