OK, I did it. I signed up for nursing school. I figure I'll be just under 55 years of age by the time I graduate but what the hell. I was 33 when I got my A.A. and almost 42 when I got my B.A.
I re-discovered our local adult school which is, are you ready? TUITION FREE! It's only an L.V.N. program and I have to get my C.N.A. license first (don't plan to actually work in the field on this one) but the whole entire program is supposed to cost me a sum total of about $1,500.00. Can you believe that? Once I get my L.V.N. the R.N. program at our local community college is only 9 more months.
Anyway, thanks so much to all those whose words of encouragement convinced me to go back to school. I can't tell you how much that meant to me.

:bounce: and congratulations on your decision. The most important person in any healthcare setting is a nurse. :)
I'm glad you're going to be one of those people.

It's hard work, but the pay is good and you feel like you're making a difference. You can do pretty well as a LVN in some settings part-time while you work toward your RN too! Good luck to you!
