"Initial reports of the incident had suggested that Adams had been mauled by Rhames' two 200-pound mastiffs, but officials have since ruled that out as a cause of death. A dog-attack-induced heart attack has also been ruled out, according to police and officials in the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.
"My dogs are family dogs," Rhames told People magazine, in one of his first interviews since Adams' Aug. 3 death on Rhames' Brentwood property. "Jacob didn't have any bites on his face or neck. He had scratches to the middle of his torso as if the dogs were trying to pull him over.
Rhames was in Bulgaria filming a movie when Adams was found dead. When he heard the news, he says, "I was stunned because Jacob knew my dogs. He took care of them. When I found out, I was shocked, especially when I read that they said my dogs mauled him." Now he says officials are looking at an aneurysm as the cause of death."
