Poll question: So, this band I know needs a guitarist.. (looking for advice)
I've been working on putting together my own band since last November..it's proven to be ridiculously difficult for some reason though.. been damned near impossible to find a vocalist and a bassist, and the other guys I have on board seem to treat it as kind of a side-project.. now, the band that is sharing practice space with my last band needs a guitarist.. the music is pretty much in line with the kind of stuff I write.. but joining them would mean pulling the plug on my band, and basically admitting failure, which I'm kinda loathe to do.. so, should I join these other guys, or double my efforts with the band I'm trying to put together??

1. Why not both?
See what happens. Maybe you meet the people you need to meet for your band through this other band.

2. That's what I was I was thinking
I especially like your track "acoustic..." Band number two is remarkably compatible with your style, though.

3. I had considered that, but I'd have to see if the practice schedules were compatable..
and figure out if I have the stamina to handle going to practices 5 nights a week still.

5. depends if you want work or not
Band #2 is definitely closer to gig status....don't you agree?
Or you could join and ask them to add your tunes to the repertoire!

6. Yeah..they're definitely closer to stage-ready..if I contacted them this weekend..
we could probably honor some of their late October bookings.. hell, the rate MaryMagnum's going, we're probably a good 6-10 months from booking.. and I'm not getting any damned younger for some odd reason..
