because it is that time of year when chili really warms the heart ( and gut ) and being someone who loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen, I would welcome any ideas offered to me by my fellow DU

Spicy, but not overpowering...maybe with a jalapeno twist ( since I love jalapenos ) something that is mild enough that most people can enjoy, just not anyone with a cast-iron stomach.
