A coffee making question.... |
|
I was talking earlier today to a friend who was drinking coffee while we were talking. They have a 2-4 cup coffee pot and were going to make 2 cups... but the pot only made one cup because of steamage... I asked said friend how many scoops of coffee they had put in the filter, because that coffee was going to be strong.... They said 3 tablespoons!!!!! 3??? I said.... Isn't the coffee mud???? no they said
My question is..... How many scoops do you put in to make coffee????
I use the half rule, if I am making 10 cups I put in 5 scoops... my coffee has always been good..... just curious to see how different ways people make coffee.... and if they like it strong or weak??
Thanks

1. I think that most coffee scoops are 2 TBLS size, give or take |

So that's 1 TBLS of coffee per cup. If your friend is using a tablespoon rather than a scoop, it's stronger than average but not exactly mud.
on edit: I put in about a scoop and a half of drip grind and only a scoop if I grind it myself on a slightly finer setting.

6. I have this little 2 cup coffee maker |
|
and I just eye-ball it. I don't know if I'm putting too much in because I buy this fancy French stuff that taste like I'm straight shooting the grounds. I might try that table spoon thing, see if it makes a dif.

When I started drinking coffee in the army it wasn't "right" til the spoon dissolved while stirring. I have also noticed that it seems to be served much stronger in the northeast than in the midwest. Regional tastes, I guess.

4. Strong coffee can be diluted by adding hot water after brewing. |
|
It's much tastier than making less strong coffee.

|
I am not sure how big a coffee cup is actually.
my coffee came out pretty good, a little strong at that level, but then again, i don't drink a lot of coffee either.
