Why's John C. McGinley doing Miller Lite ads?

2. $$$$$$$$$$
He's doing "Scrubs" and he's had a pretty decent career in films. It's not like he's out of work.

12. Are you kidding?!
"Scrubs" is the most consistently intelligent, creative sitcom on network TV today.

14. Arrgh! Scrubs is my favorite show.
I thought I would hate it before I actually saw it (every time I'd see the commercials on Comedy Central I would think "god, that show looks so stupid"), but I agree with the person who posted above you. I caught an episode accidentally and laughed so hard I could hardly breathe, and now I've seen nearly every episode at least five times each.

How many episodes did you actually watch? If you say "one" I will smack you with a dead trout. You can't judge an entire series based on only one episode. I usually watch at least three episodes of any given show to see whether I like it (although I may be loving Strangers with Candy after seeing only one episode--and I thought I would hate that show as well--but Comedy Central needs to put more episodes On Demand). Also, you can't say "My Lunch" is a bad episode. It's my favorite one, and I will sob like a pre-schooler at the end of it*, especially when Dr Cox shoves the heart-monitor machine. I can feel his rage and frustration there. Or "My Screw-Up," or "My Bright Idea," or "My Old Lady," or "My Fallen Idol..." (trails off)

*(Dr Cox has just lost his third patient to rabies)

Dr Cox (quietly, to JD): He... wasn't about to die, was he, Newbie? Coulda waited another month for a kidney.

(Cox leaves. JD follows him out the door.)

JD: Where are you going? Your shift's not over. Hey! (Cox turns and looks at JD with a defeated expression on his face) Remember what you told me? The second you start blaming yourself for people's deaths, there's no coming back.

Dr Cox (with crushing finality): Yeah. You're right. (leaves)

15. Basically, it comes down to Zach Braff.
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 03:16 PM by Starbucks Anarchist
That whiny voice of his doing the intro to each episode doesn't help, and then he flashes that stupid emo-hangdog look on his face every freaking second of the show, too.

Also, the random musical numbers that have shit to do with the plot don't help, either.

:P

EDIT: The only recent sitcoms I like are Arrested Development (RIP) and 30 Rock, which is hilarious.

Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 03:48 PM by MysticalChicken
Tina Fey is a genius. I started watching it last season but kept missing it because I kept forgetting it was on. I'll watch it this season, though. I would say "hey, it won Emmys" but I believe that awards shows these days are completely meaningless. (I didn't even watch the Emmys, nor have I watched any other awards shows since approximately 2002.)

30. Yikes.
I don't care what you like, just like I'm sure you don't care what I like.

There's these things called opinions, where different people like and dislike different things. It's part of the natural order of things.

If you're this wound up over a sitcom, I'd hate to see your reaction to important issues.

You, on the other hand, fly off the handle by asking what else is (paraphrasing) "not approved" by me, as if I'm forcing you to stop watching that show, then you demand I simply state I don't like the show instead of explaining why -- ironic, given the fact that you believe I wield some power over you, when in fact, I don't really care what someone likes or dislikes, at least as far as sitcoms go.

I think he'd always be able to make a living, but he can command some decent commercial bucks right now. He might not want to play Dr. Cox for eternity though.

Dr. Cox is a great character and McGinley's a fine actor.

16. Define "enough".
What's enough for me obviously isn't to many others... so... in this culture of McMansions and luxury vehicles and newfangled technological doodads coming out every few weeks... well... you can see how the definition of "enough" might have skewed slightly more toward (what I would call) the obscene.

in foreign countries?

Why's Sean Connery do voiceovers for Level3 Communications, or George Clooney for Duracell?

It's a quick paycheck. Connery reportedly got a million dollars for that one 30-second ad. Why wouldn't he do it?

James Spader does Acura ads and keeping with the 'Scrubs' thread theme I'm pretty sure that's Zach Braff for Cottonelle and briefly for Wendy's.

Oh sorry to ramble but you're right. Cha-ching!
