That speck in the clouds is my wife.
Taken a couple hours ago. Ms. Taterguy decided to try out skydiving. It was a helluva long wait on the ground hoping that nothing went wrong. Obviously everything was fine or I wouldn't be posting this.

4. She loved it
I just forgot to teach her that NASCAR move of giving the thumbs up after impact to reassure her fans that all her body parts were ok.

18. We get the same effect from a speck of dirt in the lens -- and no danger to your body!

5. I think she'll be high for a while
She did say I was glad I went because she wasn't capable of driving home.

11. She went tandem
I just don't have a zoom lens and they don't like newbies wandering around the landing zone.

14. The harsh reality is that I'm too large to join her
I need to lose about 30 pounds before I'm within this place's safety limits. Other places will bend that rule but I'm not sure I want to try it with a place that bends safety rules.

They also recommend doing a tandem jump with an instructor that's taller than you so I might have to search for a while since I'm 6'3"

I suspect she'll be doing it again since she said it was the greatest high of her life.

16. The first jump is always the most awesome.
I did it for a little while, but gave it up while I still had unbroken bones.

17. I'd rather go swimming -- or walk the local mall, if you don't mind.
But bravo for your Ms. and you!

20. I'm not kidding
It was an awesome sight, despite the "Holy Fucking Shit, a thin piece of fabric is all that's between my wife and a one mile free fall" thoughts that occasionally went into my head.

22. That is really cool
I'm glad it wasn't like the King of the Hill episode when Hank goes first, Peggy hesitates and then goes out and her chute doesn't open, and you see a little speck falling to the ground with a thud.

I could never, ever get up the nerve to do that. Your wife is very brave!
