1. Rosetta Stone
for vocab

or Pimsleur for conversation.

Not based on personal experience - but other people's references to RS for other languages, and a brief foray witn Pimsleur doing conversational Mandarin.

Why? Are you going on a trip??

Can we go with you?

Chico's faux-Italian is legendary even 70 years hence.

Heck, watch them anyway.

6. Ciccolina Mind Meld?
(When I made that reply, I didn't know that I had unintentionally thought of the best band name ever.)

Not two in a row, anyhow. You're not Ludwig Foreman.

You'll have to do it every day, however. If you've taken other languages, it'll go a lot easier. Look around for Italian clubs in your city or town and attend them. Go for immersion if you only have 2 months. Mi piace molto l'italiano!

9. www.learnitalianpod.com
I've been downloading the podcasts (free!) and they've been very helpful. You can get them off this website or from iTunes.

Granted, I took some Italian and a lot of French in college, so I have a little bit of a head start, but I still think these will help you pick up the basics pretty quickly. Are you going to Italy?
