Poll question: Generally, are people more or less attractive with glasses on?
Does it imply a certain studiousness that could be considered attractive? Or a lack of vision that's a downer?

1. generally less attractive because it distorts your natural eye size
making it smamller or bigger.

3. I cannot answer in the general sense
because I think some ladies who wear glasses look prettier with them on, and some others look prettier with them off.

As an aside, I hate it in movies when there is a female character who is supposed to be a bit nerdy. Then, at some point the film, she takes her glasses off and lets her hair down, and everybody is: oh my god! Who knew??

I'm screaming, I knew!! I was lusting after her since her first appearance!

6. Looking good.
I don't think it is the glasses but the style of the glasses.

Your glasses really fit your face.

I need new glasses but can't find fames that I like.

27. That doesn't mean women WITHOUT glasses aren't hawt.
Look at the lioness, for instance.

With me, it's the whole librarian/bookworm/studious look with YSL business suits . . . and I'll just stop there. :)

10. Hmmm..."more attractive" is winning...maybe I should cancel my Lasik appt.
;)

No sooner will I get my massive nearsightedness fixed, though, and then I'll need reading glasses when I get those "over-40-and-can't-read-the-menu" eyes, so I probably won't be glasses-free for long.

13. I think it really depends
Glasses can really change a way someone looks. Generally the right glasses complement, but boy, bad glasses can really make someone look a lot older, or fatter, or nerdier. I'm a glasses wearer and think it's important to update your frames every so often, so you don't look like you stuck in the last decade (or two decades ago!).

So, it depends on the glasses, and the wearer.

That, and Robb is a dingbat. :-)

18. I never notice until I'm in L.A.
Where it seems that no one wears glasses (compared to Philadelphia).

Then I notice.

I think people look way better without them, but 1) I have bad dark circles, which they help to hide and 2) my eyes are WAY too dry for contacts or LASIK 3) in my job, it's important for me to "look smart", and you can't really deny that glasses help.

Fortunately, I don't really obsess over my appearance, so I don't care ---- except in L.A., when I do feel a little self-conscious.

24. It really depends on the glasses.
But generally, I'd say more attractive.

On the other hand, I also think people are generally more attractive with their clothes off. Which seems contradictory, I know. But that's just my preference.

if I were wearing a yucky, unflattering style that wouldn't be the case.

32. I think my glasses make ME less attractive...
largely because I think my eyes are my best facial feature.

However, there is no across-the-board answer. Depends on the person, the face, and the glasses. Some people look better with glasses and some people look better without.

33. I think a lot of people look better with them
or at least wearing them sometimes

I have moved and sadly at the moment have no fucking idea where my glasses are. I know where my driving glasses are. But my bifocals seem to have vanished.

I think I don't know if i look better with or without glasses.

I've only worn them for about 2 years now. Maybe less than that.

35. I look much better without glasses
People treat me completely differently. I suppose though it is possible that my lack of confidence with my glasses affects my behavior to the extent that people will treat me like an ugly freak.
My husband looks better without glasses also.

38. Depends on the glasses (the frames).
Sometimes, it can make a person look distinguished, sometimes not. Pick the right frames for the right face shapes and you can have a great look. Pick the wrong ones and it can be downright humorous. In any case, if someone needs glasses, just wear them. It's what comes from inside that makes a person beautiful or not, ultimately.

41. There is prejudice against glasses wearers and nobody will admit it.
I've worn 'em since I was a little kid. I'm extremely nearsighted and was told by a doctor I can't have Lasik.

And it pisses me off that on TV, and for public figures, it seems that men are allowed to wear glasses, but women are NOT, generally. Not fair for those of us for whom they are a NECESSITY.

If you're that shallow about looks, and hate glasses, I don't wanna be your friend.

I wore contacts when I was young and vain (started in hard ones), and thought my lack of dates was due to glasses. Now I don't want to fool with them, although I can see far better in contacts.
