Poll question: Do you wear glasses or contact lenses?
Edited on Mon Sep-17-07 02:21 PM by mvd
I haven't seen this poll done in a while. I wear glasses. I'd be lost without them.

1. Neither... but I probably should.
I need to get my vision tested. It's been over a decade.

3. I go every three years
Yes, I recommend you go. Even if you haven't noticed a change, it's good to get checked.

5. I wear neither.
My eyesight is pretty damn good for early middle age. Though I can tell it's not the same as it used to be. I do get eye strain at night if I've been on the computer all day. And I can't always see highway signs from miles a way like I used to.

8. both, and I am getting to the stage where I need to wear both AT THE SAME TIME
Have always needed correction for distance. I mostly wear disposable long term contacts (monthly). When I am poor or having really bad allergies, I stay with my glasses.

In the last couple years I have noticed that I can read better if I take my glasses off or if I am wearing my contacts, borrow the husbands dollar store reading glasses.

So, I don't actually wear my prescription glasses at the same time as my contacts, but sometimes I do wear glasses along with my contacts.

I have been told there are bifocal contacts, but I don't think they come in extended wear. I will probably start looking into that around my next exam.

9. Glasses, but I've been thinking about getting contacts again.
Just for once-in-a-while use, like when biking.

11. I just got my first pair of reading glasses.
I wouldn't have had to get reading glasses if publishers would just stop making the print smaller each year. :7

12. Either my arms are getting shorter or I am in bifocal denial.
Contact lenses except for reading in bed right before falling asleep. Then I need glasses.

13. Both.
About half the time I put glasses on in the morning and half I put in my lenses.

14. both -- but I am getting Lasik in a couple weeks.
30+ years of having horrible vision is enough. I want to be able to go swimming, camping, and snorkeling without worrying about losing my contacts, having dirt and sand get in them, etc. I'm tired of my glasses getting scratched, getting steamed up, getting wet from raindrops, etc. etc. My other concern is that I would be completely helpless in an emergency situation if I could not find my glasses or contacts.

15. I can understand that
I'd consider the surgery if I did a lot of swimming and camping. I hope it goes well for you. :hi:

16. Thanks!
I was nervous, but now I'm just excited. I'm sure I'll be nervous the day of the procedure. :hi:
