Okay, dumb Firefox question.
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.6. Whenever I click a link, it opens in Internet Explorer. Now, I thought I deleted every version of IE from my computer, but apparently one is hiding somewhere in there (sneaky bastard).

Is there not a way to tell Firefox to open my links in Firefox? Better yet, in another tab in Firefox? Please help. I'm technologically deficient.

1. I think you need to make Firefox your default browser

3. Do you have the "open in ie" or "ie tab" extensions installed?

If so, check the options for those two extensions. Also, I don't think you can completely remove IE if you have windows XP, 2000, ME, or Vista - it's a permanent and integral part of the OS.

7. Then open "My Computer"

Click on "Tools" at the top
Then click on "Folder Options"
Choose the "File Types" tab, and see if any are made to open in IE.

4. I don't think you can get rid of IE, somewhere you should be able to set it to always open in FF

try the computer forum - they are great over there

6. Hey, good idea.
I keep forgetting there's a computer forum. My vision is tunneled to the Lounge and GD. :P

9. There's also several firefox help forums
you can find by googling.

Of course the first thing they will tell you is to try creating a new profile, just to see if the problem is in FF itself or something in your profile.

Start > Run... firefox.exe -ProfileManager

You can keep your old profile (your bookmarks, passwords, etc.) and create a new one just for testing purposes.

Might help isolate the problem.
