re; David Caruso. Can anybody tell me.... |
|
What the appeal is? He looks like a leprechaun and he's a pitiful actor. I might actually watch CSI if it wasn't for him. OK people; tell me what I'm missing.

1. Nothing. You're absolutely right... |
|
...but he's so bad, it's funny. His horrible acting and predictability is one of the reasons I still watch "CSI: Miami." I like to try and predict when he's going to do his sunglasses on/off thing, and when he's going to repeat something for dramatic effect.

" but now",( puts on sunglasses) " it's MURDER"
-cut to Roger Daltrey's famous rock scream and airboat speeding over the Everglades -
 I love that show.
"H" is OK- it wouldn't be CSI-Miami without him.

12. Sorry, I wholeheartedly disagree with all of you |
|
I absolutely love him, though I am tired of all the CSI spinoffs. I stick with watching the original only. I was hooked on Caruso from the very first time I watched NYPD Blue. I was really sorry he left (I think probably he came to regret it as well), but who could complain when Jimmy Smits took his place? I think his style is just so low key that it would appear that most of you cannot fully appreciate it.

25. Caruso's style is low-key? |
|
He's the most unintentionally funny actor on TV. His whip-the-sunglasses-on-and-off, hands-on-hips-and-looking-thoughtfully-into-the-distance schtick makes William Shatner look like Jason Robards.

I couldn't explain why I like him, except that I've been madly in love with Linda Fiorentino and now Emily Proctor, so I've had to watch him to get to them.

20. Oh goodie! I'll take any opportunity to dump on David Caruso. |
|
I loathe him. He makes my skin crawl. For the life of me I can't understand what anyone sees in him. Ugh. The fake sincerity, the sunglasses, and The Drama! He could not act his way out of a paper bag.
Could you see him doing Shakespeare? : "To be.....Or not to be.....That is the question." Then he suavely slaps his sunglasses onto his face, and makes a swift exit off camera.

He drives a Hummer. It's as if the producers are in on the joke and want to make it absolutely clear the guy is an ass.

|
maybe his grandma, he walks through scenes and i've never risen to that, "I'm an ancient Irish Chieftain now cook me up some corn beef & cabbage, while I diddle with some chicks on the side." routine
his foray into film was stunningly brief i'll say that much for him
