I saw a nifty chess game today...
The traditional board is made of individual tiles. After each move, players can move one tile one square horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, provided it doesn't move the opponent's pieces or anything other than the player's pawns.

I've never understood the reason for creating variations of chess. I find it a perfectly cromulent game just the way it is.

4. No, this game uses the standard number of pieces, and
they move exactly as in the standard chess gme. But after each move, players have the option of moving a tile on the board; so the standard grid changes as the game progresses.
