Yeah, the film "The Fountainhead" stinks..

It wasn't one of King Vidor or Gary Cooper's better efforts, and of course, it's based on an Ayn Rand novel. Ugh.

But I'm watching it on TCM w/ the sound down right now while I do my show and I'm absolutely stunned at how gorgeous and sexy the young Patricia Neal was in this film. Wow...

2. After watching this
I think she out Lauren-Bacalled Lauren Bacall! What a voice, and she was probably gave the best acting performance in the film. I loved her in "A Face In The Crowd" (which is the much, much superior film), but she might be better in this..

4. I've never seen The Fountainhead, and saw A Face in the Crowd many
years ago. I should watch that one again.

Walter Matthau gives a great speech at the end of the film. And Andy Griffith never acted better. I can't believe he didn't win the Oscar that year...
