The War on Hair

I just got done plugging in my very expensive (in my mind) ceramic (cuz thats all the rage) curling iron, dulling a razor tackling the thicket that was the hair on my legs (damn that stuff grows fast) and plucking those eyebrow hairs that dare to grow out of formation, when I looked down at my 3 very furry dogs who had this expression on their face of "what did your hair do to you"?

And really, why am I at war with my hair? I spend hours at the salon - to achieve a look that only looks good those five minutes when I go from chair to paying, I enough anti-frizz straigthening cream to have my own aisle at Target - and of course after I straighten it then I curl it. I have what is now called "ethnic" hair - just a hint of humidity will cause my Mexican/Scandanvian tresses to poof out in an afro that would make Foxy Brown proud.

I won't even touch all the waxing - lips, eyebrows - "down there" (I hate going for my yearly exam, I can't imagine willingly having wax applied there), smooth legs, underarms, etc. I have a mole on my face that sprouts the occasional thick hair that I attack with every tweezer I can find lest I look like a witch on halloween.



My husband, who is going bald, but like most bald men more than makes up for the lack of hair on his head by the amount of hair on his back and shoulders (my little sasquatch), just showers and goes - no thought to a single strand of hair. I have turned my private battle on him - when ever I see an ear hair sprouting I yank it out with glee and hold it up for him to see.
And I can't even look at his Hobbit feet.

So I am done with my rant - time to curl my bangs and go to work - dammit looks like rain, anyone got a hat?
