I'm surprised how many people took it to task. Given the rules against slamming Dems I think it's a fair question.

4. Personally, I don't think Skinner should weigh in at all

It gives one side of the debate more fodder to needle the other, it makes people feel the mods/admins are biased in one way or the other, and it could make people leave the site altogether when they'd be better off hashing out their differences and better understanding the people they're arguing with.
