How on this earth did I miss that there was a new original Highlander movie?
Starting now on Sci Fi. Don't worry I'm taping it. I own all the movies and every season on DVD. How could I ever have missed there was going to be a Sci Fi original movie with Adrian Paul? Totally hokey, some movies are truly abyssmal. But who cares. I love the conflicted mythology and Adrian Paul can do anything he wants to me.... long or short hair.

People who know me would never ever guess I'm a Highlander nut. Freaks them out when they discover this little trivia bit about me.

What do you adore that is seemingly out of character?

I could see how she might be more appealing than Alan. Cutie that he was.

7. I did enjoy talking to Alan, though.
I did feel bad because my smoke break ran way past its time limit, since I ended up talking to Nancy and Jay outside for awhile.

8. Yep, Alan and John were interesting to talk to.
I was disappointed I didn't get to talk to Nancy longer. She signed the license so I had a chance to chat with her briefly. Who was Jay? Or is that the code word for the ring bearer? I swear he was Jay of "Jay and Silent Bob" with a brunette dye job.

He was sitting next to Nancy at our table, I remember.

13. Whoops! Oh, THAT Nancy...
More than one at the wedding apparently. And my memory for names is like a steel sieve. They were from Virginia, right?

I was thinking of Aunt Nancy. Altogether different lady.

4. Highlander had a fairly random collection of fans.
Guys who are into swords and girls/nonstraight men who are into guys with long hair are the most obvious groups (hence why the ratings dropped when Adrian cut his hair. :) ), but there are plenty of other random ones too. :)

5. I don't get that. I spent five seasons yearning to give him a haircut.
8 minutes into the movie and not nearly enough Adrian Paul. Very dark start to this thing.

11. I stumbled on the end of that movie the other night.
I love Adrian Paul!

Long hair or short hair. :loveya:

He has always nailed the emotional conflict of the role well, rather than being a brute force - "Me now whack off your head!" type of thing.

14. I love the Highlander series butttttt
I Tivoed the movie you are talking about and it really is bad... I will not go into detail except to say that none of it makes sense - The writing is bad. The time frame is crazy -- like is it in the future... No, then what's up with it all???? By the way -- I have seen every single Highlander and loved them all --- I was disappointed except that it was nice to see my favorite Immortal.

The photography is interesting in this new Highlander - sort of trippy - But the setting was like, "Hey, let's pull over here and shoot this scene....HERE" And our favorite advocate of Duncan McCloud - his friend Joe (the gimpy bar owner) looks exactly like he did 12 or so years ago and yet, the world is in Armageddon state - coming to an end and people are starving and living in the streets -- but Joe is limping around like it was yesterday...:wtf: and then there is the nemesis of all Immortals - the real freaky-deekey-Dude who moves at hyper speed and does not observe the traditional rules of the Immortals -- i.e. not killing on sacred ground... so all Hell breaks loose and there is a castle and ... well the Jabba The Hutt ancient Immortal (like they needed to put that image in my head) -- Oh yes, Highlander 2 is better than this incongruous piece of crap -- AND I like, no I love, the Highlander series - movies and the TV...

37. I only caught the last 15 mins or so of the movie.
I'd stumbled upon it.

Saw the words Highlander and the date 2007....I'd had no idea there was one in the works.

Then I saw that Adrian Paul was in it.

I liked that part.

I thought it was because I was just catching the very end that the thing made no damn sense.

So...

Even if I'd seen it from the beginning it wouldn't have mattered?

It made no sense at all from start to finish - I even stopped and ran back parts because I thought "I must be missing something" but alas, it is just a product of very bad writing and poor editing.

31. It was a moment I shall never forget....
I was on my way to Ibiza and stopped in London for a week... (I love London... it is one of the greatest cities on Earth.) I went to a little out of the way pub (I was looking particularly HOT if I say so myself...) I walked in and sat down right at the bar and looked over to my right and... there HE was... Duncan McCloud. I tried to act like I didn't know who he was. I was a wreck. He bought me a drink. I am still in love. (Do not tell my husband):woohoo:

I become a babbling idiot around gorgeous men. I find them very intimidating actually. I like to look but if one got close I'm sure I'd run and hide.

And in case he's reading...Sweetie, I'm not saying you're NOT gorgeous, you're just not intimidatingly gorgeous and that's the way I like it.

20. It was just kinda dumped on Sci-Fi
I was a bit surprised to catch it on while channel surfing last Saturday.

Evidently, this thing has been in the can for over a year, with no takers on the theatrical release:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highlander:_The_Source

Perhaps Highlander finally wore out its welcome by being so irritatingly erratic over all the movies, TV shows, etc. I wasn't very impressed with "The Source." And I liked the TV series, it was probably the most consistent thing about the franchise (except for that piece of shit "Raven" show). The movies were seriously a mixed bag.
