Well, whaddya know...it's raining! |
|
Well, drizzling is more like it now...
Just a gentle little pattering coming down...
First precipitation we've seen in months...
What a good thing this is...
Kind of cozy feeling on a Friday evening...
I'm staying in tonight...
How about all of you?

1. I wish it was raining here |
|
It would match my mood, feeling a little down today and coming down with a cold to boot.
When I see your posts, it reminds me how much I miss the beach (former Venice/SaMo resident).
Enjoy the rain!

I'm sorry you're down tonight...
Plus coming down with a cold...how unfair life can be...
The beach is most likely cold and chilly right now...
I am enjoying the rain...
Hope you feel better very soon!

It's not wet yet in Canyon Country. Ms. OR refuses to believe the forecasts until the gutters start to run. The yard could use a good soaking, and it's a nice change from the summer glare, but rain could slow up my work on the Cougar. Anyways, It's nice that it is cool, and I have split some wood for the fireplace just in case it gets cool this evening.
I'm starting to think of hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks. A little bit O fall in SoCal, eh?

We were just lightly drizzled on while walking the dogs. Here is our NWS alert. I think we've been bumped to orange! (Growing up in Houston, we would have called this kind of report "Tuesday")
O.exb.klox.ff.a.0008.070922t0400z-070922t1900z/ /00000.0.er.000000t0000z.000000t0000z.000000t0000z.oo/ Cuyama valley- Los angeles county coast including downtown los angeles- Ventura county interior valleys-ventura county coastal valleys- Santa barbara county mountains-ventura county mountains- Los angeles county mountains excluding the santa monica range- Santa clarita valley- 234 pm pdt fri sep 21 2007
Flash flood watch in effect from 9 pm pdt this evening through saturday morning in and near the 2006 and 2007 burn areas...
The National Weather Service in los angeles/oxnard has expanded the flash flood watch to include all the 2006 and 2007 burn areas of santa barbara...ventura...and los angeles counties.from 9 pm pdt this evening through saturday morning
Showers and isolated thunderstorms associated with a cold low pressure system will move over the burn areas tonight into early saturday. Although most areas can expect less than half an inch of rain...isolated thunderstorms could generate rainfall rates up to an inch per hour.
Potential for debris flows in drainages... Roads... And residences in and directly below the burn area.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Residents or persons with interests in and below the burn areas should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take protective action should flash flood warnings be issued.

It was raining here this morning. I was disappointed when the sun came out; the rain is very soothing, and storms are exciting.
I'm staying in as well. The kiss are in bed. I am relaxing!

15. Hasn't rained in Chicago for more than a week... |
|
Cannot remember the last time. A month or so ago, we had a storm of the decade (or some such nonsense). Lots of trees and branches down and much damage.
Now the leaves are turning prematurely because the trees are not getting enough moisture. We've had days of high humidities without a cloud in the sky.
I wouldn't mind a bit of rain and it sounds like you need it, too.

The weather is unpredictable here in Australia
It was dark and overcast this morning but the sun is shining this afternoon
Glad you are enjoying the rain. I like rain too
When I lived in SE Asia as a child, one of my teachers told me that she used to love standing in the rain and tasting the raindrops. She said that she wouldn't dare do that now because of all the pollution

I'm foreseeing some rather nasty mudslides though.
Especially if it's raining like this up by the Hollywood sign, where they had the 2 fires earlier this year.
I haven't seen anything even remotely like this since I left Nebraska!

Maybe they had the foresight to spread some fast-growing grass seed up there...
I know that's been done in the past to help hold the ground...
Welcome to SoCal winter!
