2. I'll second that.
Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) is some major funk, and I love it still. I remember listening to it on WLS (AM radio out of Chicago) and none of my friends liked it. They didn't get it. (Come to think of it, they never understood George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic either...)

7. Saw Sly
and band at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago; three weeks before Woodstock... Steve Miller Band was the opening act , too ; seems to me still had Boz Scaggs in the band , but I wouldn't swear to it. Anyway, Sly and the Family Stone were incredible; still to this day one of the best shows I've ever seen.
